Below is a 59" wide x 36" tall cabinet in Ash, dyed with analine dye to assimilate the color of Cherry, but of course the grain of the Ash does not resemble Cherry. Above is a cabinet that I built to fill a hole left when a window was removed and where somebody built some ugly pine shelves rather than fill the hole. This cabinet is of white pine and has a pickled finish. I have several other pieces of pickled pine.

This Poplar Table is 48" x 96", made for a local family with many young children, is dyed with analine dyes and finished with hand-rubbed varnish. The top is 1 1/2" thick and is hand planed. The plane marks are clearly visible. The legs are 4" square. I added spacers to the feet of the benches that can be removed when the younger children grow taller.

Curley Maple Wall Clock 24" tall and 11 1/2" wide at the base. This maple has a litle spalting, some of which is visible to the left of the dial.

Pennsylvania Spice Chest, Cherry, natural color, hand-rubbed varnish. The second photo is of the interior. Pieces such as this were used by cabinet makers in older times to take to prospective clients to show the quality of their work. (Easier now with the Internet!) The actual color of this piece is somwhere in between the two photos.
